1. Maj. John¹ McElhany was born December 16, 1751.

He married Mary Lewis April 21, 1783. Mary was born August 5, 1762. Mary was the daughter of Thomas Lewis and Jane Strother. Mary died 1829 at 66 years of age.

Maj. John McElhany and Mary Lewis had the following children:

5 iv. McElhany.

6 v. McElhany.

7 vi. Jane Lewis McElhany. Jane died January 4, 1846. She married twice. She married David McCampbell December 11, 1817. David died November 6, 1841. (See David McCampbell for the continuation of this line.) She married Richard Morris December 1, 1845.
