1. Benajah Smith¹ Bibb was born Elbert Co., GA September 30, 1796. Benajah died February 17, 1884 at 87 years of age.

He married Lucy Ann Sophia Gilmer 1819. Lucy was born 1801. Lucy was the daughter of Thomas Meriwether Gilmer and Elizabeth Lewis. Lucy died January 9, 1887 at 85 years of age.

Benajah Smith Bibb and Lucy Ann Sophia Gilmer had the following children:

2 i. William Joseph² Bibb. He married Ann Rogers.

3 ii. George R. Bibb. He married Mary E. Lipscomb.

4 iii. Louisa S. Bibb.

5 iv. Sarah E. Bibb. She married twice. She married Dr. William T. Eldridge. She married John Sears Hutchinson.

6 v. Martha Dandridge Bibb was born 1828. Martha died 1910 at 82 years of age. She married Col. Joseph Benjamin Bibb 1849. Col. was born 1821. Col. died 1868 at 47 years of age.
